Creative English translator
I am a translator, proofreader and copy-editor, translating from Spanish and Portuguese and perfecting texts in my native language, English. I am passionate about all things language-related and the way in which languages and translation share information between cultures and bring people together.
I have two main areas of specialisation: marketing and human resources.
Marketing translations are all about creativity. You’ve put a lot of effort into perfecting your style and brand image, and that needs to be replicated in the translation. Idioms need to be adapted for readers to leave them smiling, rather than scratching their heads. I translate travel brochures, newsletters, website copy, social media posts and similar content, making sure to capture the essence of the company and the attention of the audience at the same time.
HR and business translations make everything easier for multi-national companies. I understand how tone of voice is key here: while policies and contracts should be formal, translated presentations need to be a true portrayal of the brand voice and training materials need to be clear and uncomplicated. I translate HR materials with the audience in mind, focusing on accuracy and clarity.
