To share your text with a wider audience by creating an English version that impacts its readers in the same way.

Ever visited a museum abroad and been put off by the awkward translations used on their signs? Or tried to read a website but come away not being sure about what they’re really trying to say?
We all find it easiest to truly understand and relate to texts written in our native language. However, simply being in English is not enough. Translation is about more than making your brand understandable: I make sure that your essence is being shared, your message is clear and your audience knows you care enough to ensure perfection.
My past projects have included travel guides, articles and blog posts, training PowerPoints for new employees, web pages and other marketing materials, verbatim survey answers, product descriptions, business presentations and much more. I can take on any size of project, from a whole website to a single Tweet, bringing my style to your words to convey the meaning and nuance of any text.
Some samples of my work can be found here. I translate on an ad-hoc basis for Global Voices, a website dedicated to sharing stories focusing on people whose voices are often not heard.
How does translation work?
We discuss the project you have in mind: language, subject matter, format, style, possible deadline and any other requirements.
You send me the file(s) to be translated for me to take a look, along with any existing reference materials or style guides.
I send you a free, no-obligation quote, letting you know the price and likely timeframe. Translation is usually charged by the word and can generally be completed at a rate of 2000-2500 words a day.
You approve the quote and let me know if any further requirements have arisen.
I get to work, sending any questions to you to ensure we’re on the same page. I’ll be using Trados Studio, a translation tool (not the same as machine translation) which helps ensure terms are translated consistently, speeds up the process in case of repeated content and performs rigorous QA checks to make sure no possible errors slip through the cracks.
I deliver the translated file in the format and style that you wish.
