To ensure your texts contain no errors, read professionally and sound as if they were originally written in English.

Proofreading comes in two forms:
Bilingual – the proofreading of a translation. The source text has already been translated into English and I provide the second pair of eyes, checking the translation against the original Spanish/Portuguese to ensure it is accurate, reads fluently and contains no mistakes.
Monolingual – the proofreading of a piece written in English. This may be needed when a text has been written by a non-native speaker, or simply to make sure no errors have crept in. I check spelling, punctuation, grammar, clarity and readability.
I have been providing native English proofreading since 2019, reviewing everything from product descriptions for a fashion company to audit reports.
How does proofreading work?
We discuss the project you have in mind: whether it is bilingual or monolingual, the language, style, format, possible deadline and any other requirements.
You send me the file(s) to be proofread for me to take a look, along with any existing references or style guides.
I send you a free, no-obligation quote, letting you know the price and likely timeframe. Proofreading is usually charged by the hour and can generally be completed at a rate of around 1000–1500 words per hour for bilingual and up to 3000 words per hour for monolingual.
You approve the quote and let me know if any further requirements have arisen.
I get to work, sending any questions to you to ensure we’re on the same page. If the project is bilingual I may be using Trados Studio, a translation tool which helps ensure that terms have been translated consistently and performs rigorous QA checks to make sure no possible errors slip through the cracks.
I deliver the revised file in the format and style that you wish.
