Spanish and Portuguese to English language services
I have been a full-time Portuguese and Spanish to English translator and provider of language services since 2019, working on a range of projects including translation, post-editing, bilingual proofreading, monolingual proofreading, localisation into British English and copy-editing.
I am a native English translator from the UK, although I also have experience translating into American English. My source languages are Spanish and Portuguese, and I am confident translating from any European or Latin American variety.
My qualifications include a Master’s degree in Translation and Professional Language Skills from the University of Bath and a BA in Philosophy and Spanish with Portuguese from the University of Exeter.
Fun facts:
- I grew up just outside Portsmouth in the UK, but since 2019 I have lived in Zaragoza, Spain, and I have also spent time in Cartago, Costa Rica and Porto, Portugal. This overseas experience has taught me about the importance of communicating with people in their native language if you want to truly reach them and kept me in touch with my source languages as they evolve over time
- I am passionate about travel and have so far been to 18 countries
- In addition to working with the CAT (Computer-Assisted Translation) tools Trados and Phrase, as well as client-owned software, I also have two “cat” tools called Cedro and Maite
